This is Joe, our Orange Wing Amazon.  Joe was given to our Aviary and had previously been a rescue.  Joe came to us in great shape because of the care he'd been given but Joe was a "ladies man" preferring the company of the fairer gender.  We rehomed Joe very successfully and using our special techniques of love and kindness and socialization, our Amazon Joe loves us all, guys and gals.  We respect his space because he was a wild caught bird and has been through a quarantine station before he was found and given to us.  We aren't sure of his age but because of the quarantine station identification band, we know he's at least 17 years old.  He's in his prime and has found his forever home.  By the way, Joe eats right off my plate, out of my hand and anything else he can snag  over my shoulder when I've got my back turned and my guard down. This WAS my red popsicle. He leaves the orange ones alone.

Joe is engaged to be married to Vinnie Vincenza.  Vinnie comes to us from a wonderful teacher from Indiana.  Lacey was kind enough to trade Vinnie for a Sun Conure she calls Marlee.  Marlee will be used to educate the 8th graders on the benefits of being kind to animals instead of forcing them to fight with each other.

Zoe is our NEW Double Yellow Headed Amazon. She was a gift from someone who couldn't care for her anymore. She has bonded with my son and is his constant companion. I, on the other hand have nicknamed her Vampirella for other reasons.  Amazons are flock birds and prefer the company of other Amazons. Zoe is a wonderful additon to our home and adds lots of chatter and challenges. She is appropriate in many of her verbalizations and will say hundreds of things. Here favorite past time is whirling around to "catch" something behind her. Back and forth she will go for the longest time. Her favorite food is my home made birdie bread..which she will take from my hand without biting. We are devoted to her rehoming and resocialization. She shows positive improvement to our love and socialization techniques.

This is our Amazon Joe and the first of our Amazons.  His favorite thing to do is rip up cardboard boxes.  He's really very neat about it all and we recycle the bits and pieces in the bottom of his cage.  He's decided its his job and he is fulfilled in it.

This is Vinnie Vinccenza. She is Joe's Cage Beside Mate. Vinnie is an intelligent and active young gal and very social. She had the right start and will be with us forever.  She is my personal pet and we sing and dance every morning.  Vinnie very loudly sings the first 3 notes of the Andy of Mayberry song....just the first three notes...but that tells me she is ready to sing. Vinnie has a good vocabulary that is getting clearer all the time.  She talks to Joe all the time in human language but he wisely just listens....such a good man.
